Afternoon hunt. A night at the Farm House Lodge. Morning hunt. In between: a hand-cut ribeye over open flame, bourbon and cigars by the fire once the guns are put away, and a hot country breakfast before you go back out.
This is the one people book when the point of the trip is the whole evening, not just the shooting.
How the two days run
You arrive in early afternoon, hunt the first session, and come back to the lodge as the light goes. Guns get put away and stay away — then the fire gets lit and dinner starts. The lodge is yours for the night: two bedrooms, two beds in each, a big front porch, and quail whistling through the pines while the sun drops.
Breakfast is cooked in the lodge kitchen the next morning, and you are back in the field behind fresh dogs. More about the lodge.

The maths, plainly
Booked as separate pieces this comes to $6,660. The package saves you $260 — and saves you assembling it yourself.
Booking terms
- A 50% deposit reserves your dates; the balance is due before the hunt or at check-in.
- Kentucky sales tax of 6% applies. Gratuity is not included — 15–20% is customary if your guide made the day.
- No hunting license required. Backcountry is a licensed Kentucky shooting preserve.
- Season runs August 15 through April 15.
